INSPIRATION IN LONDON

 

La semana pasada hice una visita fugaz de dos días a Londres, ciudad que no visitaba desde hacía seis años. Nunca había estado en esta época fría del año y creedme hacía MUCHO-MUCHO frío (lo está diciendo una de Burgos).

A pesar de todo siempre es un placer volver a la capital británica por la belleza de sus calles y la cantidad de estímulos culturales que se encuentran. En los pocos ratos que el trabajo me dejó libres aproveché para mi shopping de rigor y plasmar con mi cámara un poco de inspiración londinense. El hotel donde estuve alojada fue The  Montague on the Gardens. Exquisito servicio y buen ejemplo de estilo inglés.

Last week I made a fleeting visit to London of two days, city that not visited for six years. I've never been in this season and believe me it was VERY-VERY cold.
Yet it is always a pleasure to return to the British capital for the beauty of its streets and the cultural life you can enjoy. In the few times that the work let me free I took the oportunity for my required shopping and capture with my camera some London inspiration. 

The fabulous hotel where I stayed was the The Montague on the Gardens. Exquisite service and good example of British style.

Hola a todos. Ya os contaba en la anterior publicación la cantidad de trabajo que me tenía apartada del blog. Por fortuna no todo ha sido estrés en estas semanas de ausencia y he podido tomarme unas pequeñas vacaciones cuyo destino ha sido la Provenza.

Ojala hubiera podido permitirme alojamiento en este maravilloso hotel que os muestro hoy. Pero el destino de mis vacaciones es una buena excusa para compartir estas fotos con vosotros, no?

El Hotel 28 a Aix, situado en Aix en Provence, ciudad de Cézanne, consta sólo de 4 exclusivas habitaciones inspiradas por los tonos tierra y pastel de la región. Encuentro especialmente dinámico el juego y la elección de las telas de las que se han servido para cubrir paredes y realizar los cabeceros. Piezas antiguas y otras diseñadas exclusivamente para cada espacio dotan al hotel de un estilo muy francés pero contemporáneo.

Hi everyone. I already posted previously about my busy time that had me away from the blog. Fortunately not all was stress during my absence and could take a short vacation with destination Provence, France.
I wish I could afford to stay in this wonderful hotel that I show you today. But the fate of my holiday is a good excuse to share these pictures with you, isn't it?
28 a Aix Hotel is located in Aix en Provence, Cezanne's town, and consists of only 4 exclusive rooms inspired by natural and pastel tones tipical from the region. I find particularly dynamic the choice of fabrics which are been used to cover walls and bedheads. Antique pieces and other furniture designed exclusively for each space give the hotel a very French but contemporary style.

EL GRAN DIA - Parte II: El Sitio

THE GREAT DAY - Part II: The Location

Aquí estoy con la segunda parte de la celebración de la boda de mi hermana, Hoy os hablo del lugar donde se festejó y nos alojamos familia y amigos más íntimos. Relais Ca' Muse, en la provincia de Vicenza, fue el sitio elegido y nuestro hogar (solamente estábamos nosotros como huéspedes) durante aquel fin de semana.

Ca'Muse fue antiguamente una granja por lo que su arquitectura es rural mezclada con una rehabilitación totalmente contemporánea. A todo esto le acompaña la vista de los jardines y los campos de girasoles en medio de la campiña. Los dormitorios son todos diferentes y el edificio cuenta con numerosas salas de estar, ocio y lectura. El mismo huésped puede escuchar la música que desee en cualquiera de los salones, y el servicio es totalmente personal.

El arquitecto Flavio Albanese se ocupó de la rehabilitación y decoración en la que no faltan numerosas obras de arte de prestigiosos artistas como Marina Abramović, entre otros, por lo que la estancia se disfruta el doble! Recomiendo leer más sobre el sitio aquí.

Os aseguro que fue un sueño "vivir" aquí durante tres días.

If last week I posted about the my sister's wedding celebration,  today I speak about the location where we celebrated and stayed the family and closest friends. Relais Ca' Muse, in the province Vicenza, was the chosen place and our home (we were the only guests) during that weekend.
Ca' Muse was formerly a farm so its architecture is rural and mixed with a contemporary rehabilitation. The gardens and landscapes of sunflowers fields in the middle of the countryside make it a very special location for relaxing. The bedrooms are all different and the building has numerous lounges, entertainment and reading rooms. The guest can chose the music to hear, and the care service is absolutely personal.
The architect Flavio Albanese was the author of the rehabilitation and decoration. The rooms are full of artworks from renowned artists, such as Marina Abramovic, among others, so the enjoying is twice as much! I recommend reading more about the site here.
 

I assure that it was a dream to "live" here for three days.

El edificio del Hotel Washington School House fue construído como una escuela allá por el 1889 en Park City, Utah, y mirad en lo que se ha convertido. El concepto es simple, de lujo total. Buen gusto. Una utilización exacta y equilibrada del color. Exquisitos tejidos, obras de arte y una colección cuidadosamente seleccionada de antigüedades.

Mi pieza favorita es el sofá de terciopelo de la primara imágen que compone el salón principal. ¿Quién se puede resisitir? Cualquiera se recrea la vista con estos detalles!

Si os gusta el estilo frances, la montaña y los lugares con historia teneis el sitio perfecto para disfrutar de todo ello.

The building of the Hotel Washington School House was built as a school in 1889 in Park City, Utah. Look at what it has become now. The concept is simple, absolutely luxury. Good taste. Accurate and balanced use of color. Exquisite fabrics, works of art and a carefully selected collection of antiques.
My favorite piece is the velvet sofa which composes the main living room. Who can resist?
If you like the French style, mountains and historical places you have the perfect place to enjoy it all.

HOTEL LANCASTER PARIS

No paro de ojear todo lo que caiga en mis manos sobre decoración, viajes, antigüedades. Dedico buena parte de mi tiempo a lo que no sólo es mi profesión también mi pasión. Así que en mi búsqueda diaria de inspiración me he topado con una de esas revistas de viajes que se encuentran en los vuelos low cost. El Hotel Lancaster de París estaba sugerido en sus páginas y llamó poderosamente mi atención. ¿No os parece maravilloso?... Molduras, toques dorados, terciopelos, tonos pastel.
Quise conocer un poco más y os puedo contar alguna curiosidad como que Helmut Newton realizó en las suites un shooting fotográfico para Hermès, inspirándose en las fustas y espuelas propias de la firma. Eso sí, no sabemos que opinó Mse. Hermès ante aquellas imágenes provocativas e irreverentes típicas del artista. Para más glamour la mismísima Marlene Dietrech vivió tres años en la suite que ahora lleva su nombre y que está decorada en color lila, el favorito de la diva. En el Lancaster queda mucho de aquella época dorada.

I can not stop reading everything I get in my hands about decorating, travel, antiques. I spend much of my time to not only my profession also my passion. So in my daily search of inspiration I have found one of those travel magazines that are in low cost flights. The Hotel Lancaster in Paris was suggested in its pages and caught my attention. Don't you think it's wonderful?... French moldings, gold accents, velvets, pastel tones.
I wanted to know more about this place and found some curiosities as to Helmut Newton made a photo shooting in the suites for Maison Hermès, inspired by the whips and spurs typical of the brand. I don't know what thought Mse. Hermès when saw the provocative and irreverent images  typical of Newton. Another anecdote is that Marlene Dietrech lived for three years in the suite that now bears her name and is decorated in purple, the diva's favorite colour. The Lancaster has still a lot of that golden era.
