BLUE OASIS

A pesar de su vibrante color este jardín invita al más absoluto reposo. Supongo que uno, aquí, se debe sentir desconectado de cualquier mundanal acontecimiento. Yves Saint Laurent debió sentir lo mismo porque el Jardín Majorelle supuso para él el lugar de descanso de sus últimos años y dónde decidió que descansaría eternamente después de esta vida.

Me gusta esa mezcla de azul cobalto con notas de turquesa y amarillo, y la frondosa vegetación de cactus y palmeras que compiten en verticalidad con las columnas del porche.

Despite its vibrant color this garden invites the most complete rest. I suppose one here, should feel "un-plugged" from any worldly event. Yves Saint Laurent should felt the same, since the Majorelle Garden was for him the place for resting during his last years and where he decided to rest forever when he died.I like that mix of cobalt blue with hints of turquoise and yellow, and the competition of vertical cactus, palms and the porch columns.

PANE & TULIPANI

Hola a todos. Hace casi dos años que hice estas fotos y bueno, no sé bien porqué no las había publicado hasta ahora. El lugar se llama "Pane & Tulipani" situado e la ciudad italiana de Como, y descubierto por casualidad en una de nuestras escapadas a la ciudad.
Se trata de un restaurante de ambiente campestre que comparte actividad con una floristería, de ahí el nombre, también con ese mismo aire campestre que veis y que tanto me gusta. No tengo fotos de la parte más interior que correspondería a la de la zona del comedor y la floristería, que sigue una decoración muy rústica manteniendo, al igual que en el resto del local, un respeto total por la estructura original.
Aquí podeis comer a muy buen precio platos sencillos italianos, tomar el aperitivo o comprar flores. ¿Os gusta? Podeis ver más fotos aquí, aquí y aquí.

Hello everyone. Almost two years ago I took these pictures... well, I don't know why I hadn't posted them until now. We came across with this restaurant in one of our visits to Como and since then is one of our favorite place to eat. Its name "Pane & Tulipani" (Bread & Tulips).
It is a country restaurant that shares activity with a florist business too, hence the name, also with that same rustic decoration that you see. I haven't got any pictures of the inside, that would correspond to the dining area, which keeps, as in the rest of the areas, a total respect for the original structure. 
Here you can eat Italian tasty dishes by an affordable price, take the evening aperitif or buy a bunch of pretty flowers. Do you like it? See more photos here, here and here...

CAFÉ ROYALTY

Hay lugares que hacen emocionar a cualquiera que escuche su historia. Este es uno de esos que en un siglo de vida a vivido el mayor auge, y padecido las miserias más absolutas, para volver a resurgir de sus cenizas en una generación que ya no sabía de su existencia.

El Café Royalty nació allá por el 1912, en una Cádiz que comenzaba una Belle Epoque de monumentos y museos. Gracias a su propietario, Gómez Doreé, este café se presentaba como un espacio de exquisita atmósfera intelectual y debido a sus conciertos y su decoración neobarroca acogía a la flor y nata de la sociedad gaditana, además de intelectuales de prestigio. Pero pocos años le duraron los tiempos dorados, porque con la llegada de la Guerra Civil tuvo que cerrar sus puertas y pasar, en una dura postguerra, a ocupar el rango de almacén. Después como bazar, y por último caer en el olvido durante décadas.

Desde 2008 vuelve a ser el Café Royalty con un carácter similar al que regía en sus inicios: un lugar genuino y singular; y con el propósito ambicioso de apostar por la historia y la gastronomía.

Café Royalty born in 1912, in the Cádiz city where it started a "Belle Epoque" period. Thanks to its owner, Gómez Doreé, this cafe was presented as a space of exquisite intellectual atmosphere, and because its concerts and neo-baroque décor it housed "la crème de la crème" of Cadiz high society and prestige intellectuals. Unfortunately the golden age lasted only a few years. With the advent of the Spanish Civil War it had to close its doors to go down into the range of store in a tough postwar years. After that as a bazaar, and finally fall into oblivion for decades. 
Since 2008 it is again the Café Royalty with the similar character ruled in the beginnings: a genuine and unique place; and the ambitious purpose of betting on the history and cuisine.

... Y aquí estoy. Hola a todos! Mi vuelta se ha hecho esperar pero aquí me tenéis con un reportaje-resumen de mis vacaciones. Destino (como siempre): Ibiza... Esa isla tan deseada por gentes de todo el mundo. Será por su sol, sus aguas. Por su su gastronomía, variada y sabrosa. Por su historia, su gente, peculiar y hospitalaria, su fiesta o su tranquilidad... Me quedo con todo y haciendo hincapié en que es un paraíso de paz, al contrario de lo que muchas personas piensan. ... And here I am. Hello everyone! My return has been waited but I am back with a report-summary of my vacation. Destination (as always): Ibiza... That island so desired by people around the world.
